FONDATION CHU SAINTE-JUSTINE ET FONDATION DE L’HÔPITAL DE MONTRÉAL POUR ENFANTS
Opportunities abound for collaboration between the Research Centre of the CHU Sainte-Justine and the Research Institute of the CUSM. However, these collaborations emerge organically and are not based on any formal inter-institutional alliance.
The aim of this project is to establish a formal and lasting partnership between the 2 institutions, to strengthen collaboration between researchers, and to multiply the discoveries that will transform the lives of children and mothers. By pooling strengths, such a partnership will propel medical advances faster than if each institution worked in isolation.
The project is structured around 2 initiatives: a symposium bringing together over 250 researchers, and a competition to award 3 research grants of $100,000 each. The projects selected must be based on a partnership with at least one member of each institution, have significant potential to qualify for additional external funding, and lead to advances in maternal and child health. Projects must also promote the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI).
