Furniture Bank

Furniture Bank provides low-income individuals and families with the basic necessities to create the conditions of comfort, dignity and stability that come with a furnished home. This service improves both the psychological and financial stability of beneficiaries.

Leg Up is a professional integration program for marginalized people. In addition to job-specific training, it offers workshops in mental health, conflict resolution, financial education and personal and professional coaching. Participants can gain experience in logistics, customer service and operations.

Furniture Bank’s approach is an interesting one, as it meets a basic need (furniture and household supplies) and offers employment experience to marginalized people, not to mention the ecological aspect of recovering used furniture.

The organization has significant experience in managing a social economy enterprise, expertise that could serve as inspiration for other organizations seeking to diversify their sources of revenue.
