La Maison Bleue has chosen to offer its services to young women from pregnancy until their child is 5 years old, since perinatal and early childhood are privileged periods of intervention that optimize the positive effects in the medium and long term. The hybrid organizational structure of La Maison Bleue is the product of a linkage between three entities: a NPO, an integrated university health and social services centre (CIUSSS), a family medicine group (FMG).
La Maison Bleue is not only an access point for receiving a range of medical and psychosocial care, it is also a living environment for the families who visit it. It is located in the heart of its community, easily accessible by foot or public transport. La Maison Bleue was born out of a desire to do things differently. There are now 4 houses in Montreal. A promising success model in terms of replicability and sustainability.
