Les Grands Ballets is one of the most emblematic figures of Montreal’s cultural scene. In recent years, the company has demonstrated its leadership through its commitment to the new Espace Danse project and the establishment of the National Center for Dance Therapy (CNDT). Integrating dance and movement to clinical research, training and therapy, the CNDT aims to develop the well-being of individuals through the benefits of dance. Dance Therapy is used in the treatment of many health disorders – mental health (anxiety, depression), neurological disorders (Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s), motor disorders (arthritis). It is also highly beneficial for people whose social condition or overall health keep isolated.
The CNDT, which is already well renowned, fits well with the orientations of the Foundation: the use of art as a tool for societal development.
