Plein Milieu
With over 30 years’ experience, Plein Milieu favours an approach centred on harm reduction, information and prevention for a safer and more empathetic world.
In a spirit of inclusion, a number of services are offered, such as outreach work, street work, support in accessing housing, mediation between people experiencing homelessness and the community in which they live, and a fixed site for accessing safe consumption and protection equipment.
Interventions cover a number of areas, including sexuality, drug use, prevention of overdoses and sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections (STBBIs), homelessness and social cohabitation.
At Plein Milieu, people are treated as human beings in their own right, supporting them to achieve their full potential in society. The organisation works for social justice, where everyone has access to services and care that meet their needs, while respecting their wishes and autonomy.
