The Foundation is proud to support two projects.
Spanning the Gaps is a free TMU programme offering a second chance at post-secondary education for youth and adults. Comprising two components—the Transition Foundations programme and the Indigenous Foundations programme—the programme aims to create pathways to higher education for members of underrepresented groups and individuals for whom post-secondary education seemed out of reach. Both components not only address students’ academic needs, but also offer comprehensive, holistic support services designed to increase learners’ potential for success.
TMU’s VentureMatch programme connects students with short-term internships that offer professional experience, networking opportunities and essential skills. TMU’s Zone Learning and Strategic Initiatives Office plays a key role in promoting experiential learning and entrepreneurship. It oversees the network of incubators on the university campus (called ‘Zones’), which collectively offer students, start-ups and community members access to mentoring, resources and opportunities to turn their ideas into high-impact businesses.
