The co-development cohort on the culture of change and social innovation was born out of a need expressed by organizations to go beyond training workshops. Since 2014, organizations eager to explore new possibilities join forces to lean, reflect, get inspired and experiment.
Caution: Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the next cohort will begin in January 2021. The registration process will take place from October 15 to November 16, 2020.

Over a period of 8 months (6 months this year), a dozen NPO executive directors meet to deepen and exchange their knowledge on various issues they encounter in their daily professional lives. New models of management, storytelling, financing, communication, governance, impact… the topics are diversified and adapted to the expressed interests and needs of each cohort.
Organizations wishing to initiate a change; they feel they need to be accompanied in order to meet the new requirements of funders in terms of innovation; they would like to facilitate the implementation of new ways of doing things within their team.
The 7th cohort will run from January to June 2021. Several encounters are programmed. The sessions and teaching supports are mainly in French.
This year, a contribution of $ 500 (instead of $ 1,000) and a resolution of the Board of Directors are requested.
These registration fees include:
- The sessions of training
- Fees for external speakers and trainers
- Teaching materials
- Meals and meeting rooms, if applicable
- Personalized support, according to the needs of each organization
Various actors contribute to the cohort.
The Foundation’s philanthropic activities team acts as host, and liaison with the various stakeholders who share their knowledge.
André Fortin, the Foundation’s social innovator in residence*, leads the sessions, delivering theoretical content as well as concrete exercises and tools to be put into practice within the organizations.
*Inspired by the Artist in Residence, who designs a creation by integrating a place and obtaining more resources, the Social Innovative in Residence supports the teams in moving the organization toward best practices: designing work processes that favour relationships and avoid compartmentalized approaches, enhancing the employees’ dormant competencies, developing a culture of innovation and the reflexes to deal with change and complexity.
Please note : Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the sessions will initially be virtual. In order to offer participants the best experience possible, two virtual workshops have been planned monthly, instead of a the habitual full day. Some dates have however been identified in bold for possible full days in person, if public health measures allow it. If, for any given month, a full day was to take place in person, the second (virtual) workshop would be cancelled.
In person meetings would take place in Montréal.
