Data privacy policy

The Fondation J. Armand Bombardier is subject to Quebec’s Data Privacy Law 25. We take all issues relating to confidentiality very seriously and act accordingly to respect our duties and obligations. We want to be as transparent as possible about the information we collect. To this end, here is the privacy policy for the Foundation’s philanthropic activities.

By personal information, we mean any information about you that you voluntarily provide to us and that makes it possible to identify you, including sensitive information about the organization in which you work. The personal information collected is confidential; only personnel authorized to follow up the requests for which it is provided have access to it. At no time will this information be made public, sold or disclosed to third parties without your consent.

By providing personal information to the Fondation J. Armand Bombardier, you authorize us to collect, use and disclose such personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and as authorized or required by Law 25.

You may withdraw your consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information at any time by e-mailing us at confidentialite@fjab.qc.ca.
However, if you withdraw your consent, we may not be able to continue to respond to your requests.

For newsletters and communications about Philagora program activities, you can choose whether or not to receive these communications from us. You can change your preferences regarding these communications at any time by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link at the end of each e-mail or by sending us a request at confidentialite@fjab.qc.ca, specifying that you no longer wish to receive e-mails or newsletters.

In the table below, you will find a list of the personal information we may collect as a result of your consent and a description of the ways in which we plan to use it. This information is also available in html format here.

What data is collected and what we use it for.

Cookies are used on Fondation J. Armand Bombardier sites. These files make it possible to identify your browser software from one visit to the next and from one page to the next within a session, so as to facilitate your access to and navigation within the site. Cookies can only be read by the Web site that transmits them to your computer. When you access the site’s transactional module, a cookie file is automatically created on your computer. Our server has access to this file, which stores information that identifies you and facilitates your browsing. If cookies are deactivated, the use of certain functionalities may be affected.

The Fondation J. Armand Bombardier uses Google Analytics on the Philanthropy website. This service is provided by Google Inc. Google Analytics uses cookies and other unique identifiers that are placed on your computer’s hard drive. They help the Fondation J. Armand Bombardier analyze your use of its site.

The traffic data collected by cookies and other unique identifiers relate in particular to your use of the site (including your IP address), which will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. Google will not pass on any information that could be used to identify you.

Google will use the information collected for the following purposes:

  • To evaluate your use of the website;
  • To compile reports on website activity;
  • To provide other services relating to website activity and Internet usage.

We keep your personal data only for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which we collected it, including to satisfy any legal, accounting or reporting requirements.

In determining the appropriate retention period for personal data, we take into account the amount, nature and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm resulting from the unauthorized use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data, and any applicable legal requirements.

If we no longer have a legitimate interest in continuing to process your personal data, we will delete, de-identify or anonymize it.

The Fondation J. Armand Bombardier has appointed Mario Choquette, IT Director, responsible for the application of laws and regulations regarding the protection of personal information. As such, he is also responsible for ensuring compliance with this policy.
