THE NEXT GENERATION COHORT
A new Cohort for the Next Generation of Nonprofit Executive Directors!
This Cohort is designed for individuals working in the nonprofit sector who wish to deepen their understanding of the executive director role, develop their leadership skills, and prepare to assume executive responsibilities in the medium term.
The Cohort is designed to be a supportive space for learning, reflection, and inspiration. We prioritize a variety of approaches: discussions in small and large groups, case studies and theoretical presentations, co-development, and occasional presentations by industry leaders.

Through this initiative, we aim to help develop committed leaders, support the next generation of executives, and foster the creation of a sustainable network of individuals who will contribute to the sector’s future.
This program is designed for individuals currently employed by a nonprofit organization who wish to enhance their skills and knowledge to take on an executive leadership role. Particular attention will be given to the following profiles:
- Those who have recently assumed an executive or interim leadership role within the past two years;
- Those in deputy director or middle management positions;
- Coordinators or managers responsible for projects, programs, and teams.
Throughout the sessions, participants will explore various leadership-related issues.
Beyond the course content, the cohort offers the opportunity to:
- Build trusting relationships with peers facing similar challenges;
- Take advantage of opportunities for discussion, collaborative development, and learning, including input from alumni;
- Expand their network of emerging leaders and inspiring individuals in the sector;
- Take a step back from their practice and draw on collective intelligence;
- Discover new perspectives, approaches, and resources to support their development;
- Set aside dedicated time to reflect, view their environment in a new light, and nurture their capacity for action.
The Foundation’s philanthropic activities team serves as host, co-facilitator, and liaison among the various guests who come to share their expertise.
The sessions will take place in person at the Centre St-Pierre, 1212 Panet Street, in Montreal.
